The Island of Un-Named

By Emilia Dufour, year 7, La Mare de Carteret School

I thought I lived on a small island...

I was playing hide and seek with my brothers. it was my turn to hide and I was not ready for what I ran into.

Where am I? I thought to myself. I look up to see a tall boy with dark hair and piercing blue eyes staring at me. "Uh, are you okay?" he says. It takes me a moment to answer. i'm trying to think, why am I here? And what happened? I finally answer with "I don't really know..." I realise how stupid that must sound not knowing if you're okay or not. He just laughs and says "Ha, ha. Okay. Then how did you get here and why are you in the Forbidden Forest?"

He helped me up and I said "um well last thing I remember I was playing hide and seek with my brothers." He stared at me like i'm crazy and I realised he must not know what i'm talking about. "I don't even know where I am!" Panic floods inside of me and I stammer out "Help me get home."

Next thing I know i'm on an unusual looking creature high up in the sky, it has blue fur, orange eyes and huge claws not to mention the seagull like wings. I look at the boy confused and he explains I'm on a Skwudge and the boy's name is Zach. Then I say my name, Rayne, I open my eyes after my long scream and we're falling violently to the floor.

"THIS STUPID ANIMAL THING IS GOING TO KILL US!!!" Suddenly golden animal paws start flying out of me as we fall down onto the land of the riches.

"You're an animal goddess. You can't leave now!"

I don't know if i'm going to escape.
