Deep Blue Dream

By Levi Valpied, year 7, St Sampson’s School

When I was little I dreamed of going to the big blue but today that childhood dream came true. At 1 pm on January 1st I went to my mum and said “I’m doing it ... I’m going.” I packed my bags and just walked out the front door. I didn’t know where I was going or when I was coming back. I just knew it was going to be amazing. Excited, my friends and I got on a boat and took off. Amazed, as we left the dock with the sun shining the world changed. Llittle did we know what would happen to ourselves . Three hours later we were far, far away from land. We were amazed at all the life out in the ocean when a giant pod of dolphins came up to the boat. Stunned, we sat and watched them play happily In the water. After the dolphins disappeared into the darkness of the night we called it a day and went to bed. It was cold. Tired , we put our heads down and tried to block out the cold. When we woke up we found ourselves floating in a cloud, a blanket of fog had set over the night. When we first saw this we thought we were in a dream. Even though it looked amazing and magestic, we had no idea what was following it. Five to ten minutes later a life threatening storm crashed on us we had no idea what to do. All we could do was sit and pray to survive.
